...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids MI has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan...

  Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County.

  Red Cedar River At East Lansing affecting Ingham County.

  Portage River near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County.

.Between 1.0 and 2.5 inches of rain has fallen across much of
southern Lower Michigan today. With additional rounds of storms and
heavy rain expected, several rivers will likely overflow their banks
in the coming days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Portage River near Vicksburg.

* WHEN...From this evening to Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 5.0 feet, Expect overflows into wooded areas, yards,
  a few outbuildings, and farmland adjacent to the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - There is no current observed data.
  - Bankfull stage is 4.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this evening to a crest of 5.3 feet tomorrow morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    5.2 feet on 05/20/2019.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT TO FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Sycamore Creek at Holt.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of low lying areas
  adjacent to the river, in the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and
  sections of East Mt. Hope Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 5.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late tonight
    to 8.5 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood
    stage tomorrow evening to 6.9 feet Friday evening. It will
    rise to 7.8 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall
    again and remain below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    8.3 feet on 04/05/2023.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Red Cedar River at East Lansing.

* WHEN...From Friday morning to late Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 6.5 feet, Water begins to encroach on some Michigan
  State University athletic fields.
  At 7.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of low lying areas, adjacent
  parks, and farmland.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 5.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Friday morning to a crest of 7.4 feet Saturday evening. It
    will then fall below flood stage late Monday evening.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    7.3 feet on 05/17/2014.
