- Sunny today, increasing clouds Friday

Skies are clear across the region due to high pressure at the
surface and aloft moving over the Great Lakes. We`ll see sunny
skies today and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Today will feel a
little humid as dewpoints climb into the lower 60s.

As the ridge moves east Friday, the next system upstream will
spread clouds eastward and skies will become cloudy Friday
afternoon.

- Showers and isolated storms Friday night & Saturday

Low pressure over the plains accompanied by an upper short wave
will push showers and thunderstorms eastward across the lower
Great Lakes Friday night. Models track the low south of the cwa,
which means highest moisture content will also remain south, along
with the severe weather threat which will reside over the Missouri
Valley. QPF in the quarter to third of an inch range is expected
with lowest amounts over the northern cwa. Showers will develop
early Friday evening and end Saturday afternoon as the surface low
and upper trough move east.

- Dry late weekend through mid week

High pressure will quickly build in behind the departing low
producing dry weather Sunday through late Tuesday. Highs in the
lower to mid 80s are expected during this period, which are near
to slightly above normal.

Skies will remain mostly clear throughout the period as high
pressure settles over the state. Light and variable winds will
become WNWly by late morning as a few cu develop.

Wind and waves will not pose a threat to small craft through
Saturday, but will increase Sunday as the pressure gradient
tightens.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday night and Saturday which would
be hazardous to boaters and beach goers.
