.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 323 PM EDT Tue May 6 2025

Upper low continues to spin across the Ohio Valley with
a deformation axis bringing mesoscale bands of rain across Lower
Michigan into the evening, before moving east and ending.
Additional QPF will be only around 0.05 inches. We do not expect
flooding along area rivers although several points will crest over
action stage in the next day or two.

A cold front pushes south on Wednesday and may bring a few light
showers, especially during the afternoon across central Lower
Michigan, Surface high builds south with dry and cool weather for
the rest of the week. The potential for frost and freezing
temperatures exists Thursday night into Friday morning.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z THURSDAY/...
Issued at 154 AM EDT Wed May 7 2025

Skies have almost fully cleared now and fog development has begun
at some locations. The greatest potential for 1/4SM fog through 12
or 13Z will be from AMN to LAN to JXN. Elsewhere, MVFR to IFR
visibility is possible as patchy or shallow fog develops until
sunrise. Once the fog mixes out with the drier air above, it
should be a mostly VFR day. A cold front with northeast winds is
expected to move through during afternoon/evening. Some models
show the possibility of MVFR ceilings behind the front, otherwise
VFR ceilings above 3,000 ft.

.MARINE...
Issued at 323 PM EDT Tue May 6 2025

Trends continue to show strong persistent northerly winds
Wednesday into Wednesday night. These winds of 15 to 25 kts
gusting to 30 kts will build waves hazardous to small craft late
in the morning with the threat beginning along the points and then
will encompass the entire south west Michigan nearshore by mid
afternoon, continuing until shortly after midnight. Thursday will
see winds shift to the east with off shore flow.
