Through the morning hours, arctic high pressure was centered
across the mid and lower Mississippi while a warm front headed
east across the northern Plains.  Mostly clear skies and light
winds prevailed across the region which promoted a cold start
today the day. Early morning lows ranged from 16 below at Land O
Lakes to 9 above at Ephraim. By 10 am, temperatures ranged from
the lower teens to lower 20s across the region.

Ample sunshine is expected through this afternoon. High
temperatures are forecast to reach the low to middle 20s across
the region.

Following the recent prolonged period of cold weather, a warming
trend appears likely heading into the weekend. Temperatures will
rebound into the 30s on Sunday, with several locations seeing
highs in the 40s Monday and Tuesday. Along with the warmth
periodic chances for precipitation will return to the region late
Sunday through Wednesday.
