...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

Nearshore waters from Washington Island to Sturgeon Bay...
Open waters of Lake Michigan from Rock Island Passage to Sturgeon
Bay...

At 500 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to 25 to 30 knots and torrential rainfall. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Rock Island
to near Detroit Island to 8 nm north of Cana Island Light, moving
east at 25 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Rowleys Bay and Detroit Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
