.DISCUSSION...
...GUSTY WINDS WITH POWER LINE FIRES POSSIBLE TODAY...
Unseasonably warm temperatures are expected today then sharp
cooling will occur on Monday following the passage of a cold
front. South winds will gust to 30 to 35 mph, with min RH values
dropping to 30-35%. The stronger winds and dry conditions will
produce an increased risk of power line fires.
Isolated showers may move into north-central WI by late this
afternoon, but most areas will see at least scattered showers
and isolated storms tonight into Monday morning as a cold front
crosses the state. Majority of the area will see rainfall amounts
less than 0.25 inch. Much cooler temperatures are expected early
this week, with the risk for frost increasing for portions of
central WI, to north-central WI and far northeast WI. A freeze
could even occur over north-central WI. Confidence for frost on
Wednesday night is lower. Beyond this, plan on another warm up
late this week into next weekend with only small rain chances.
