870 FXUS63 KGRB 072046 AFDGRB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Green Bay WI 346 PM CDT Tue Oct 7 2025 Forecast discussion for routine afternoon forecast issuance .KEY MESSAGES... - Freeze/frost headlines continue for areas away from Lake Michigan tonight as confidence increases for temperatures in the 20s and 30s. - Additional frost/freeze headlines look likely for Wednesday night, away from Lake Michigan. - Cool temperatures through mid-week, then slowly warming to above normal again by the weekend. - A dry period expected through Thursday, with small precipitation chances returning Thursday night into Friday, and a better chance anticipated Sunday through next Tuesday. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 346 PM CDT Tue Oct 7 2025 A cold front will continue to move through the region this afternoon and evening, accompanied by scattered to broken cloud cover, gusty NW-N winds and the arrival of a cooler and drier Canadian air mass. Frost/Freeze Headlines & Temperatures...Made some changes to the ongoing frost/freeze headlines, as latest guidance keeps more of eastern WI above freezing overnight and a lingering pressure gradient supports persistent light north winds in eastern WI through the night. The main change was to downgrade the Freeze Warning to a Frost Advisory in southern Marinette, southern Oconto, Menominee and Shawano counties, with a time match with the existing Frost Advisory in the Fox Valley areas. Additional frost/freeze headlines look likely Wednesday night, as Min temperatures have been lowered several degrees, especially away from Lake Michigan. The cool temperatures begin to moderate late in the work week, and rise to well above normal again over the weekend. Precipitation...Canadian high pressure brings dry conditions through Thursday, but southerly return flow brings a small chance of showers Thursday night into Friday. After another dry period for the first part of the weekend, southwest flow and increased moisture brings a chance of showers at times from Sunday afternoon through next Tuesday. && .AVIATION...for 18Z TAF Issuance Issued at 1222 PM CDT Tue Oct 7 2025 VFR flight conditions are expected through the TAF period. A weak cold front will bring scattered cumulus and a narrow band of mid-level clouds as it moves through this afternoon and early evening. Otherwise, only expecting gusty winds shifting from W to NW/N in the wake of the front, then becoming light and variable as high pressure arrives overnight. There is a small chance of patchy ground fog late tonight, but confidence is too low to include at any of the TAF sites. && .GRB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
