Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The Central High Plains region observed partly cloudy skies. At 2
am MT (3am CT) temperatures ranged from 27 degrees in Colby,
Kansas to 36 degrees in Leoti, Kansas.

OUTLOOK... Precipitation chances are forecast to increase
throughout the day along with cloud cover with mainly rain and some
thunderstorms for most of the forecast area; the higher
elevations of Yuma and Kit Carson counties are forecast to see a
rain/snow mix before becoming all snow this evening. High
temperatures for the day are forecast in the upper 30s to the low
50s across the area. Rain is then forecast to favor southeast
portions of the area Friday with another day in the 40s for highs
forecast. A cold front will then move through the area late Friday
afternoon leading to a changeover to all snow for nearly the
entire area with little accumulation currently forecast. Another
cool day Saturday before a warming trend returns to end the
weekend.
