This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon and early
evening generally along and north of Highway 36 from northeast
Colorado into northwest Kansas, including all of southwest Nebraska.
Thunderstorms capable of producing large hail of 2 inches in diameter
or larger, damaging winds to 70 mph and perhaps a brief tornado will
be possible, particularly in southwest Nebraska. Thunderstorm
development is expected to occur after 4 PM MT (5 PM CT), with
chances continuing through about 9 PM MT (10 PM CT) before moving out
of the area.

A cold front will move through the entire Tri-State area this
evening bringing a risk for strong winds. Northwest winds gusting up
to 55 mph will be possible between 7 PM and 11 PM MT (8 PM and
midnight CT) as the front moves through. Some patchy blowing dust
may also develop in addition to the gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

Near critical to locally critical fire weather conditions will
continue through the rest of the week due to low humidity and gusty
winds especially across portions of northeast Colorado and southwest
Nebraska.

Spotter activation may be required.
