.DISCUSSION...
Breezy southerly winds gusting 25-35 mph are forecast to continue
through the rest of Friday afternoon leading to some fire spread
potential especially along and west of a Dundy to Greeley county
line where humidity values are the lowest in the upper teen to low
20% range. The breezy winds are forecast to continue through the
night.
Saturday will continue to see heightened fire weather conditions as
even stronger southerly winds of 35-45 mph possibly to 55 mph are
forecast. Humidity values are currently forecast in the upper teens
to low 20s across the area. Per fuel partners fuel is marginal and
despite the stronger winds the current forecasted humidity is still
not enough to justify Red Flag Warnings at this time. Blowing dust
may also be possible during the afternoon hours as well. A wind shift
with showers and storms (dry lightning a possibility) is forecast to
move across Colorado fire zones 252, 253 and 254 after 6pm MT.
Additional wind gusts around 65 mph are possible along with further
dust concerns (wall of dust possible) with this activity as it moves
into northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska.
