.DISCUSSION...
Little to no concerns for critical fire weather conditions through
the week as winds are either below 15 mph, or relative humidity is
forecast to be above 25%. We also have daily chances for rain which
may help lower how dry the area is depending on the coverage of the
storms. The main issue today is that most of West-Central Kansas is
under a Heat Advisory. Heat related illnesses will be more likely if
fires have to be dealt with.
The daily chance for storms may also pose a problem as strong wind
gusts around 40-70 mph will be possible. Also, lightning could be
fairly frequent at times and increase the risk of lightning started
fires. The risk looks to be a bit higher today, with a chance for
better rain production in storms later in the week.
