.DISCUSSION...
Light winds around 5-15 mph are forecast for the majority of the
area today, but be aware of varying directions. A few storms are
possible near the Tri-State border this afternoon and in southwest
Nebraska this evening. Brief, localized severe wind gusts and cloud
to ground lightning are possible in/near any storms. More widespread
storm development along/north of the I-80 corridor in Nebraska this
afternoon could potentially send outflow south toward the I-70
corridor this evening, leading to an abrupt wind shift and short
period of strong northerly winds, though, this is a low probability,
low confidence scenario.
Watching Sunday into early next week for warmer temperatures and a
little windier conditions which could lead to some elevated fire
weather conditions.
