.DISCUSSION...
Overall fire weather concerns remain low. Mainly light winds less
than 10 mph and varying winds from the north to the east are forecast
for the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening along with
humidity values remaining above 25-30%. A rogue storm with strong and
erratic winds can`t be ruled out this afternoon across Colorado zone
254 and Kansas zones 27, 28,29, 41 and 42 but the threat decreases
after the sun sets. Dense fog may be possible Saturday morning
across Nebraska zone 81 and Kansas zones 3,4 and northern portions
of 15 and 16.
Heat will be the main concern this weekend with high confidence in
triple digit air temperatures. Winds Saturday are forecast to be
from the southeast around 15-20 mph along with humidity falling into
the upper teens to low 20s which may be enough to support some
elevated fire weather for the afternoon hours. There is a 20% chance
that drier air can mix down and lead to briefly critical fire weather
conditions. Even hotter Sunday but winds look to be weaker
mitigating the fire weather concerns.
