For eastern Utah and western Colorado, here is the latest weather
synopsis
Expect more record-setting heat, with highs 10-15 degrees above normal
across eastern Utah and western Colorado again today. The San Juan
Mountains will see a few isolated to widely scattered showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon, with lightning, gusty winds, and maybe some
light rain. The rest of the region, however, will have mostly clear skies,
making it feel even hotter under the intense sunshine. Avoid being out
during the hottest portion of the day, generally 10 AM to 4 PM, if
possible. If you must go out, wear light colored clothes, drink plenty of
water, and take breaks in the shade or indoors. Near record heat will
continue through the end of the week. As monsoonal moisture returns this
weekend, look for widespread showers and thunderstorms, along with much
cooler temperatures.
