Through around 3 AM, portions of Phillips, Osborne and especially Rooks counties could see areas of fog development ahead of an approaching cold front. Visibility could vary widely within the area, ranging from very light fog, to perhaps pockets of dense fog reducing visibility to 1/4 mile or less. However, no matter how dense fog might become, it will not last all that long, as strengthening north winds behind the cold front will sweep any fog out of the area by around or shortly after 3 AM. Due to the fairly brief and variable nature of any fog early this morning, issuance of a formal Dense Fog Advisory is not currently anticipated. That being said, motorists very early this morning should be prepared to encounter potential fog, and visibility that could vary considerably over short distances. $$ Pfannkuch
