This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Due to the combination of strong southerly winds gusting over 30
MPH and low relative humidity values near 25 percent, elevated to
near-critical fire weather conditions will continue across much
of the local area into the early evening hours tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Thunderstorm chances return to portions of the forecast area
Wednesday evening. Some of this activity may be strong to severe,
especially between the hours of 7 PM and 1 AM. Hail to the size
of quarters and 60 mph wind gusts will be the primary concerns,
with the main focus for any severe weather expected to be along
and north of Interstate 80.

Near-critical fire weather conditions will be possible mainly
southwest of the tri-cities Wednesday afternoon. More widespread
near-critical to critical fire weather conditions are anticipated
for Thursday afternoon. In addition to the fire weather concerns
Thursday, strong northwesterly winds will gust 40 to near 50 MPH.

Additional chances for thunderstorms are anticipated across at
least parts of the local area Saturday evening through Monday.
