958 PM CDT Wed Aug 13 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Overnight.

Between midnight and sunrise Thursday, a line of thunderstorms,
along with possibly other more isolated to scattered storm
activity, will likely affect parts of our area, with the greatest
concentration of storms expected to focus within counties along
and especially north of Interstate 80.

Although the majority of this activity will likely not be severe,
some strong to marginally-severe storms are possible, with the
main threat being wind gusts up to 50 to 60 MPH. Some small hail
is also possible with a few storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees for portions
of the area each day Thursday through Sunday. The hottest days
will be Friday and Saturday, when some areas (mainly east of
Highway 281) may see heat index values reach or slightly exceed
105 degrees

The next meaningful chance for thunderstorms returns to the area
Sunday night, with continued off-and-on chances through early
next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to report any possible instances of hail
or wind gusts exceeding 50 MPH that might occur overnight.
