There is an outside chance that a stronger storm could develop late this afternoon near and south of the Nebraska-Kansas border, perhaps capable of producing small hail and/or gusty winds. However, it is looking increasingly-likely that any potential for truly severe storms should focus at least slightly south and southeast of our forecast area. - Wildfire smoke potential this afternoon into tonight: It is looking increasingly-likely that at least modest concentrations of wildfire smoke from well north of our region will arrive into our forecast area this afternoon into tonight, driven southward by north winds behind a cold front. This will likely cause some degree of reduced air quality. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. - Thursday Wildfire smoke potential: At least modest concentrations of wildfire smoke could persist into Thursday within at least parts of our forecast area, causing some degree of reduced air quality. - Thursday evening and overnight thunderstorm potential: Isolated to perhaps scattered thunderstorm activity appears possible Thursday evening and overnight as another cold front passes through. If storms develop into our area, it is possible that a few could be strong to potentially severe, although there is still some uncertainty regarding this scenario. && More information may be obtained at the following web page: https://www.weather.gov/hastings $$ Pfannkuch
