.DISCUSSION...
A cold front moving through the area today will cool things off,
especially for locations north of I-80. Due to the cooling
temperatures, RH values across much of central Nebraska should remain
above 50% this afternoon. Some of the warmer locations across north
central Kansas could see afternoon RH values drop as low as 30-40%.
Winds starting out of the south this morning between 10-15 MPH and
gusting as high as 25 MPH will be expected to later abruptly turn
northerly as the cold front passes from northwest to southeast
across the area between 8AM and 6PM today. In addition, widespread
precipitation from scattered storms today and tonight should overall
limit the fire weather potential. Despite the drier airmass behind
the front, cooling temperatures should still keep afternoon RH values
from dropping below 30-60% for Wednesday afternoon. Winds on
Wednesday out of the north to northeast between 10-15MPH shouldn`t
gust higher than 25MPH during the day.
