.DISCUSSION...
Dry conditions are forecast today, with generally partly cloudy skies
expected. Current west-southwesterly winds early this morning will
turn more westerly, then northwesterly through the first half of the
day, as a surface frontal boundary pushes east across the region.
Gusts around 20 to 25 MPH will be possible from late morning through
at least mid-afternoon. Highs today will be warmer...expected to
reach into the low-mid 40s for most locations. A few spots in the
southwest portions of the area may inch closer to the 50 degree mark.
Winds switch back to the south this evening and tonight ahead of
the next upper level disturbance and surface cold front, which will
be pushing through the region on Saturday. At this time, the greatest
potential for accumulating snow looks to be focused to the NNE of the
local forecast area...though at least a dusting to around 1 inch will
be possible mainly north of I-80. The accompanying surface cold front
will bring another shot of NWrly winds Sat afternoon-evening.
