...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected to
  continue to today in the warned area.

* WHERE...A portion of north central Kansas, including the following
  counties, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks and Smith.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
  earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings and other flood prone areas
  may be inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 604 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from
    thunderstorms last evening and overnight with between 2 and 5
    inches of rain estimated to have fallen. Additional rain
    today will be limited, but flooding will continue due to the
    excessive runoff.
  - This flood warning replaces the previously issues flash flood
    warnings issued for this general area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Phillipsburg, Stockton, Kensington, Agra, Kirwin, Gaylord,
    Glade, Athol, Speed, Harlan and Cedar.
  - Some creeks and streams including are the Deer Creek, Spring
    Creek, Big Creek, Plum Creek, West Cedar Creek, Medicine
    Creek and Big Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
