Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Montana
National Weather Service Glasgow MT
1234 AM MDT Sun Jul 26 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Upper ridging will maintain hot and generally dry weather
conditions across the region into the first half of the work
week, raising fire weather concerns to near critical at times as
fuels dry out. Conditions become near critical in sporadic
locations today, but mainly across greener areas on NDVI Satellite
products, and no thunderstorms ignition threat is expected for
these locations. Therefore, held off on Red Flag today. An
isolated wind burst from dying showers in Petroleum or Garfield
county this evening is low chance (5 to 15%) but still possible.
General Haze and smoke from fires in the Pacific Northwest will
reduce visibilities across the region and especially across the
Missouri Breaks.
