Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Montana
National Weather Service Glasgow MT
237 PM MDT Sat Jul 12 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND BREEZY NORTHWEST WINDS FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 134...

.DISCUSSION...
Upper level ridging is guiding hot and dry conditions across the
region today. West winds this afternoon will eventually become
north to northwest at 10 to 20 mph with occasional higher gusts as
relative humidity bottoms between 15 and 20 percent for most
areas. This combination will lead to critical fire weather
conditions across portions of Phillips and Valley Counties or Fire
Weather Zone 134 where a Red Flag Warning remains in effect.
Elevated fire concerns will still exist outside of the warning
area but true critical conditions will be more isolated and less
persistent. Elevated fire weather concerns may result on Sunday as
well with hot and dry conditions but wind speeds may be somewhat
lighter.
