.DISCUSSION...

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Following a chilly start to the day with lows in the 20s,
temperatures will respond by Wednesday afternoon with highs
rebounding to the 50s for most of NE Montana.

Upper ridging over the western U.S. will guide northwest flow
aloft over the region for Thursday with warmer temperatures but
afternoon isolated showers and a lone thunderstorm come into focus
with an embedded shortwave. Friday looks to be the warmest day
with temperatures into the 70s across the area. Shortwaves will
continue tracking southeast, keeping shower chances in the
forecast through the weekend with a continuation of warm
temperatures under that ridge.

Overall, precipitation amounts will be light and fairly hit or
miss, but wetting rain are reflected in the NBM mean guidance
associated with some of the steadier showers.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

NBM captured overall trends reasonably well, though confidence is
below average on precipitation amounts and placement through the
period given the hit or miss nature of convection, especially at
later time periods. As HREF guidance and other short term higher
resolution data become available, trends should become more clear.
