.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:
1) A winter storm currently in progress will bring additional snow
today with most of the snow accumulation along and north of the
Missouri River, though southern tier zones may still feel some
impacts at times.

2) As snow ends, temperatures look to plunge tonight with
overnight low temperatures between 10 and 25 below zero for many
areas - raising wind chill concerns. NW winds may bring areas of blowing
and drifting snow in the east tonight and Thursday.

3) Another winter storm is expected Friday and Friday night with
the heaviest snow mainly south of the Missouri River.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Accumulating snow will continue at times today, especially north
of the Missouri River where an additional 1 to 4 inches of snow is
expected. To the south, an inch or two additional accumulation are
likely today, especially along northern portions of the counties.

Most of the snow today is expected to occur in a 3 to 5 hour burst
of heavy snow between mid morning and mid afternoon. Will keep the
Winter Storm Warning going in the north and Winter Weather
Advisory in place for Garfield, McCone and Richland Counties for
now. There may be enough wind in the east this afternoon and
tonight for areas of blowing snow.

Temperatures are expected to plunge tonight as snow exits, with
widespread lows ranging from 10 to 25 below. This will lead to
wind chill concerns once again and cold weather headlines are
likely for tonight and Thursday morning. Arctic temperatures look
to remain in place over the next several days.

More snow is expected Friday and Friday night with most of the
snow expected to be south of the Missouri River. The NBM
probability of 2 or more inches of snow along and south of MT 200
for Friday and Friday night is around 60 percent at this time.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Confidence is high on additional snow at times today. Confidence
is low on the possibility of blowing snow tonight and Thursday.

Confidence is also high on the Arctic temperatures to take hold in
the coming days.

Confidence is medium on the snow Friday and Friday night.

No deviations from base forecast at this time.

There may be times where these ceilings may lift to VFR before
dropping again a couple hours later. Snow will bring the chance
for IFR/LIFR visibilities especially from 15Z through roughly 22Z
today. MVFR ceilings will gradually lift to VFR levels tonight.

WIND: NE to SE at 5 to 10 knots early. Backing N to NW by late
morning in the west and this afternoon in the east. Increasing to
10 to 20 kts gust 25 knots this afternoon. Then, calming to 5 to
