Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Glasgow MT

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:

1) Low temperatures will range from 15 to 40 below across NE
Montana this morning with bitter cold wind chills at times.

2) Below normal temperatures will continue through the 7 day
forecast.

3) Very light snow is possible(30-60%) Sunday night through
monday night.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Arctic temperatures remain entrenched across the region with
overnight lows expected to range from 15 to 30 below. Wind chills
will be near 35 to 40 below right along the Canadian border this
morning. SO the Extreme Cold Warning sits across the northern
tier of zones with a Cold Advisory everywhere south of that
through 18Z.

Below normal temperatures will continue through the end of the
forecast with wind chills continuing to be problematic during the
morning hours for the next several days.

Next chance of snow looks to be Saturday night through Monday
night, however totals look very light with mainly on an off
showers/flurries leading to skiffs in any one period. Currently
the greatest areas of impact will be the southwest with Petroleum
and Garfield counties while areas across the northeast such as
Plentywood and Scobey perhaps not experiencing any snow at all.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Only minor deviations this morning. Mainly focused on lowering
temps along the western border Thursday through Saturday with the
Great Falls office to mesh up to the lower temps up against the
Phillips/Petroleum border. GAH
