.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Temperatures slowly warming through the week.

- Scattered showers this week with possible Fire Weather issues
  Saturday.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

An upper trough over central Canada and the northern Plains will
keep northwest flow into eastern Montana through much of the week.
Weak shortwaves will be moving through the flow, producing
scattered showers and slowly shifting the trough eastwards. With
the eastward movement of the trough, heat building into the Great
Basin will spread northward, bringing warming temperatures into
Montana.

By the end of the week, an upper ridge will be in place over the
west with a stacked low pushing through Manitoba. Tightening
gradient between the high and low could bring stronger winds into
eastern Montana. With warmer and drier conditions also expected,
fire weather concerns may be elevated for the weekend.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Beyond regular deviations in the short term, generally followed
NBM for the the forecast.
