.DISCUSSION...

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

The slow moving upper low will continue to bring cool and wet
conditions to NE Montana over the next couple of days. Isolated
showers are expected late tonight over the SE zones then the
northern zones Wednesday. Wednesday evening will see the low
shift east with drying weather conditions.

For Thursday, the next shortwave will track in from the west with
the next round of thunderstorms. Some of the storms in the
afternoon and evening may offer heavy rainfall as moisture in the
column (Precip Water) will be above normal, approaching an inch.
The potential for a few stronger storms will also be monitored
grazing our western then southern zones.

Ensembles are also indicating a warm to hot day Saturday then a
brief slight cooldown for Sunday.

More concerning will be a prolonged SW upper flow that sets up.
This time of year could mean higher than normal thunderstorms
occurrences that could be severe. Flash flooding is also possible
with Precip Water near or above an inch (normal is between
0.50-0.75").

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
The Near term models earlier showed the possibility of isolated-
scattered thunderstorms this afternoon over the SE zones, but the
NBM downplayed it and that seems to be the way to go the next
couple days.

Therefore, will just ride with the NBM through the period.

However, in the coming days, refining the finer details
surrounding pops and thunderstorm chances for Thursday may be
appropriate. TFJ
