KEY MESSAGES: - Scattered showers this afternoon near Fort Peck Lake will gradually diminish tonight. - Expect a slow warming trend through next weekend with isolated showers possible. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Not much change to the going forecast with this afternoon/s package. Upper ridge still expected to build in, centered over central Montana into early next week. This will allow temperatures to gradually warm into next weekend with highs next week generally in the 70s. In the meantime, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected near Fort Peck Lake this evening but diminishing with the loss of daytime/diurnal heating. Patchy fog may develop in some areas by Sunday morning. Most of the shower activity Sunday and Monday will stay south of the CWA. On Tuesday, an upper trough that moves east from the Pacific NW will help trigger widespread but slight chance of mainly showers during the afternoon. Thereafter, the upper ridge over the area will help contribute to a warming trend. Light SE winds should not erupt into a rough day on Fort Peck Lake. And moist conditions should not lead to fire weather concerns. Hopefully, showers will return to the area later in June as it is typically our wettest month, and growers & farmers will depend on it as the area has been slightly drier than normal so far this year. FORECAST CONFIDENCE AND DEVIATIONS: Some uptick in pops were made near the ND border, as a low-level jet and deeper moisture exist into the early evening hours. Patchy fog was added for late tonight, otherwise NBM was pretty much followed through the period. TFJ/Chambers && .AVIATION...
