.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- A cool rain is possible this morning in parts of the area.

- Warmer and windy conditions can be expected Thursday.

- Cooler and more unsettled conditions can be expected into the
  weekend.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
A shortwave moves through the region today with a little rain
possible. A ridge builds behind the shortwave for Wednesday, with
a larger trough digging off the Pacific coast. Another shortwave
moves along the Canadian border on Thursday with increasing
downslope winds behind the wave.

The trough lifts into western Canada late in the week dropping a
stronger disturbance across the northern Plains over the weekend.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
No change from NBM for the forecast.

Confidence for shortwaves later in the period decreases with
higher differences in track and timing.
