.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Warm and dry conditions will finish out the holiday weekend
before a cold front swings through the region on Tuesday.

- Northerly winds will bring smoke south into the area from Canada
  starting tonight.

- Cold front looks to bring scattered showers/thunderstorms early
Tuesday (mainly northeast zones) with much cooler conditions by
  Wednesday.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Upper ridge reaching into the region will keep dry and warm
conditions over northeast Montana today.

A fairly strong closed low pressure system will swing through
central Canada on Tuesday, as it tracks toward the Great Lakes.
This will drop a cold front into Montana. The northerly flow will
allow Canadian smoke to filter south into the area tonight and
Tuesday.

A few showers or thunderstorms are possible, mainly near the
North Dakota border with the front. Winds will increase slightly
with the front, but currently are not expected to reach Lake Wind
criteria. A second front is expected on Thursday and this one
looks to have some stronger winds behind it.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

No major deviations from the NBM, but did increase winds through
Tuesday, blending them with the NBM90.
