.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

 - Below average temperatures all week, with some areas seeing
   below 0 for daily minimums.

 - Northwesterly flow will bring small disturbances that will
produce brief chances of snow with little accumulation
   expected.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Upper level Low that brought snow to areas of the region over the
last couple days is moving away, with a cold Canadian air mass now
parked over the region. Upper level ridge will begin to build in
off the West Coast this week putting our area under a northwest
flow aloft. Multiple shortwaves may ride down this flow bringing
brief chances of snow to the area on Tuesday, again Wednesday
night into Thursday and again on Friday. At the moment these do
not look to be big precipitation producers and long term models
have been fluctuating quite a bit on timing and placement of the
West Coast ridge. So will have to keep monitoring to see if the
placement and intensity of these disturbances change as the week
progresses.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Blended forecast and NBM90 for the short term winds.
Confidence is high for below to well below average temperatures
lasting through the week. Confidence is low on the disturbances
riding down the northwest flow aloft.
