.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Disturbance from Alberta brings the chance for showers late
tonight into Monday, mainly north and northeast of Fort Peck
  Lake.

- Mostly dry conditions thereafter with a warming trend into
Wednesday, then temps cool back down a few degrees into next
weekend. There will also be a slight chance of showers.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Smoke has been moving out of the area this afternoon. There is
the potential that there may be a return of some smoke Monday
afternoon but shouldn`t be as dense nor widespread.

An upper trough will be developing over central Canada tonight,
putting our area in a northwest flow into Monday. Instability
over Alberta looks to bring leftover showers and thunderstorms into
mainly our northern zones late tonight and Monday. Winds could
get to 40 mph late tonight as indicated by the Max Wind Gusts with
the HREF.

Then another upper trough swings into western Canada Wednesday.
This should bring a prefrontal warming scenario to the CWA
Wednesday. Max temps are anticipated to reach the upper 80s and
90s. There are no fire weather concerns as fuels are too wet and
winds will not be strong enough.

But it will be shortlived as cooler air is expected to drop into
the area for the remainder of the week. There are slight chances
for showers as well, but substantial rains or widespread severe
thunderstorms are not expected as most of the dynamics remain over
Canada.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Mainly followed NBM but did add slight chances for showers for
tonight and Monday in particular as the NBM has a bit of a dry
bias with NW flow at times. TFJ

DISCUSSION: Mainly clear skies with light winds (10 kts or less)
can be expected into tonight. However, a disturbance dropping
