MARCH 2025 FINISHED WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND NEAR NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR NORTHEAST WASHINGTON AND THE NORTH IDAHO
PANHANDLE. THE FIRST 11 DAYS OF THE MONTH STARTED OFF ON A DRY NOTE
WITH MILD TEMPERATURES. THE PATTERN CHANGES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE
MONTH WITH AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN.  FROM THE 12TH THROUGH THE
22ND SEVERAL ROUNDS OF VALLEY RAIN, MOUNTAIN SNOW, AND BREEZY WINDS
TRACKED THROUGH THE REGION. ON THE MORNING OF THE 22ND A NARROW BAND
OF HEAVIER PRECIPITATION RESULTED IN SNOW DOWN TO THE VALLEY FLOORS
OVER PORTION OF NORTHEAST WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO. A WEATHER
SPOTTER FIVE MILES EAST OF MOYIE SPRINGS RECORDED 6 INCHES OF SNOW.
THEN A RAPID WARMUP OCCURRED THROUGH THE 26TH, WHEN SEVERAL RECORDS
WERE BROKE. NOT ONLY WERE DAILY RECORDS BROKE, BUT MONTHLY RECORDS
AS WELL. HIGH TEMPERATURES THAT BROKE MONTHLY RECORDS ON THE 26TH
INCLUDE COLVILLE 76 DEGREES, SPOKANE 75F, COEUR D`ALENE 74F, AND
DAVENPORT 73F. FOLLOWING THE RECORD HEAT, A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS
TRACKED THROUGH THE REGION LATE ON THE 26TH THROUGH THE EARLY
MORNING HOURS OF THE 27TH. THUNDERSTORMS WITH ABUNDANT LIGHTNING
TRACKED THROUGH THE UPPER COLUMBIA BASIN PRODUCING ABUNDANT
LIGHTNING FROM OTHELLO AND CONNELL UP THROUGH WILBUR, CREST,
DAVENPORT, AND REARDAN.  AS THE STORMS TRACKED NORTH OF SPOKANE,
SEVERE WINDS OCCURRED WITH A PEAK GUST OF 67 MPH AT THE DEER PARK
AIRPORT.  MULTIPLE TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN AROUND THE AREA, INCLUDING
SR206 EAST OF COLBERT, AND SR292 NEAR SPRINGDALE.

IN ADDITION TO THE MONTHLY RECORDS LISTED ABOVE, SPOKANE`S HIGH
TEMPERATURE OF 75 DEGREES ON THE 26TH SMASHED THE PREVIOUS DAILY
RECORD OF JUST 67 DEGREES.
