.DISCUSSION...
A belt of hot, dry, and breezy air exists over Western North
Texas this afternoon and evening with temps between 105-108,
south-southwest winds 10-20 mph, and RH around 15-20%. This will
promote an enhanced fire weather threat across all of Western
North and Central Texas, but especially for areas west and north
of the DFW Metroplex this afternoon and evening. This belt of warm
and dry air over North Texas will likely continue overnight until
a cold front moves through early tomorrow morning. Within this
belt, expect poor moisture recovery and gusty winds through the
night.
There is a low chance of scattered showers and storms tomorrow
morning through Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the chance of
wetting rain is generally less than 20% each day. The cold front
will bring northerly winds and slightly higher humidity, but
temperatures will still be well above-normal. Southerly flow along
with hot/dry conditions return Friday and continue through the
weekend into early next week.
