...OZONE ACTION DAY IN EFFECT TUESDAY AFTERNOON...
.DISCUSSION...
Warm and mainly rain-free weather will continue for several more
days, aside from some low rain chances in Central Texas with the
arrival of a weak cold front later today. This front will also
shift winds from easterly to northerly while speeds remain around
10 mph or less. An uptick in wildfire starts could occur heading
into the weekend as temperatures remain 5-10 degrees above normal
while ERC values climb above the 50th and even 75th percentiles.
RH values will also dip to near or below 30% on Saturday and
Sunday which could cause the fire threat to become elevated.
Modest wind speeds will continue for several more days though,
largely at 10 mph or less.
