...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING
FOR NORTHWESTERN ANDERSON AND CENTRAL HENDERSON COUNTIES...

At 914 PM CDT, the public flooding in and around Athens. Flash
flooding is already occurring. Rainfall rates are starting to come
down, which will help improve the ongoing flash flooding, but light
to moderate rain is expected to continue for at least the next hour
or so.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Athens, Malakoff, Trinidad, Caney City, Coon Creek Lake, Forest
  Grove Reservoir, Trinidad Lake, Cross Roads, Log Cabin, Star
  Harbor, Crescent Heights, Cayuga, Bethel and Yard.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is
harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
