...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR LAMPASAS COUNTY...

At 307 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain. The Lampasas River at Adamsville
has risen 13 feet in 2 hours. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are forecast. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Copperas Cove, Lampasas, Kempner, Colorado Bend State Park,
  Lometa, Adamsville, Nix, Rumley, Izoro and Moline.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
