...New Aviation, Short Term...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Hot, but near seasonal, temperatures will prevail through next
week with highs in the upper 90s to 100 each afternoon.

&&

.SHORT TERM... /NEW/
Update:

Mid level cloud cover has increased a bit overnight, particularly
across Central TX in association with our slow moving upper low.
As a result, we`ve increased cloud cover through midday and
lowered high temperatures 1-2 degrees throughout Central TX. Some
light radar returns are also noted, but this activity is well
above the surface and wouldn`t expect much more than a few
sprinkles. No other changes needed at this time.

Previous Discussion:
/Overnight through Monday/

Mostly clear skies and warm conditions will continue overnight
with south winds around 10 mph. Temperatures will fall through the
lower 80s and into the upper 70s by morning. The influence of an
expanding upper ridge will continue to be felt into the upcoming
week as high temperatures nudge upward a degree or so Sunday and
again Monday. Highs will top out in the upper 90s both afternoons
with heat index values between 102-105 degrees. Afternoon mixing
and breezy southerly winds will offset some of the heat keeping
heat indices in check a bit and making for a seasonal hot upcoming
week.

The weak mid level tropical disturbance continues to slowly spin
off to our southwest. This feature will be slow to become absorbed
into the mean flow and may result in some isolated convection this
afternoon and again Monday mainly to our west and southwest.
Similar to the last couple of days, we can`t rule out an isolated
shower in our southern counties, but rain chances will generally
be less than 10%.

.LONG TERM... /Issued 1158 PM CDT Sat Jul 19 2025/
/Monday Night through Saturday/

Mid level ridging will dominate the southern CONUS through the
upcoming week resulting in seasonably hot temperatures and
humidity. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 90s to near
100 each afternoon with heat indices between 100-105 degrees.
Outside of some very low rain chances late in the week across our
southeast counties, most areas will remain dry.

.AVIATION... /NEW/
/12Z TAFs/

VFR will prevail throughout the period with the exception of some
MVFR cigs across parts of Central TX which may intermittently
impact Waco this morning. Otherwise, a blanket of BKN/OVC high
clouds associated with a mid level low will persist through mid
day again mainly south and east of the D10 airspace. While some
light radar reflectivity echoes are noted with these clouds, rain
chances will continue to be quite low. South winds will become
gusty this afternoon and persist through tonight.
