023 FNUS63 KFSD 150907 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 407 AM CDT Wed Jul 15 2026 .DISCUSSION... Hot, dry, and sunny weather continues into the weekend with highs mostly in the 90s to lower 100s. Southerly afternoon winds gust around 20 to 25 mph each day, highest west of the James River. With hot temperatures, humidity values fall by Friday to around 25% for areas west of the James Valley. This could lead to some locally elevated fire concerns as these lower values continue into the weekend. Chances for isolated (25% or less) showers and storms return Sunday into Monday, but confidence in any details including timing remain very low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored. OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category. The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native grasses.
