143 FNUS63 KFSD 161154 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 654 AM CDT Sat Aug 16 2025 .DISCUSSION... Another hot and humid day is ahead with highs mainly between the mid 80s to mid 90s for the day. With dew points expected to be elevated in the low to mid 70s and lush green fuels due to recent rainfall, expect fire danger to remain low heading into Sunday especially with additional rainfall expected tonight. Looking ahead, elevated dew points along with lush green grasses should keep any fire weather concerns to a minimum. However, could see additional chances for precipitation tonight and again over the course of next weekend. The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored. OUTLOOK FOR SUNDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category. The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed. $$
