113 FNUS63 KFSD 030829 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 329 AM CDT Sun May 3 2026 .DISCUSSION... Dry air will build into the region today, with afternoon relative humidity levels falling as low as 20 to 30 percent, lowest near and east of Interstate 29. Afternoon gusts to around 20 mph will lead to elevated fire weather concerns in areas where Spring green-up is lagging. The lowest relative humidity levels will be seen from mid-afternoon through sunset, generally between 3 pm and 8 pm CDT. Stronger northwest winds are expected by Monday afternoon with gusts 25 to 35 mph. However, relative humidity levels should also be slightly higher in the 30 to 40 percent range most areas. While areas with dry fuels may again see locally elevated fire weather concerns due to the stronger winds, widespread concerns are not expected. Cooler weather settles in for Tuesday and Wednesday with milder weather returning Thursday into next weekend. Chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms will be focused south of the Highway 18 corridor Monday night, with spotty chances mid-late week.
