Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD
341 PM CST Sun Nov 16 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Southeasterly winds are expected to increase through this evening
and become breezy around sunrise Monday. Winds will peak around noon
to early afternoon with gusts of 20-30 mph. Breezy winds will be
widespread through the region, with the highest gusts expected over
central South Dakota.

These winds are associated with a quick moving system that is
expected to bring rain and possibly some snow Monday afternoon into
Tuesday morning. The majority of the precipitation is expected to
fall north of I-90. Total liquid equivalent of precipitation will
range from 0.10" to 0.25" with portions of southwestern Minnesota
possibly seeing up to 0.50". Despite precipitation in the forecast,
Fire Danger will be in the Moderate to High category Monday. Minimum
relative humidity values are expected to fall to less than 40%.
While not critical, it is still important to use caution with
sources of ignition.
