231 FNUS63 KFSD 092128 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 428 PM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025 .DISCUSSION... Moderate fire danger continues through the afternoon and into early evening as temperatures have risen into the 70s and winds are gusting up to 30 mph. A front moves through the area tonight, bringing a return of northerly winds for Friday. Winds will be weaker than on Thursday, but may still gust up to 20-25 mph. Winds turn back to the south for the weekend, with an increased likelihood of 20 to 30 mph wind gusts each afternoon. Relative humidity values fall either side of 30 percent Saturday afternoon leading to widespread high fire danger. After passing light rain into Sunday morning, winds may turn quite gusty for the afternoon hours, potentially gusting as high as 35 mph. These winds, combined with very warm afternoon temperatures will again lead to high to locally very high GFDI risks in the afternoon.
