839 FNUS63 KFSD 060831 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 331 AM CDT Wed May 6 2026 .DISCUSSION... With the exception of slightly lighter winds on Thursday, the pattern will remain conducive to breezy/gusty afternoon winds and mostly dry conditions through the upcoming weekend. Rain chances are sparse, with perhaps a low chance south of I-90 on Saturday. As a result of the dry pattern, minimum afternoon relative humidity (RH) levels will largely be in the 20 to 35 percent range, with a potential for RH as low as 15 to 20 percent on Thursday. MNZ080-081-090-097-SDZ056-061145- Murray-Cottonwood-Jackson-Pipestone-Moody- ...LOW FIRE DANGER... The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored. OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the moderate category. The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed. $$ IAZ001>003-012>014-020>022-031-032-MNZ071-072-089-098-NEZ013-014- SDZ038>040-050-052>055-057>071-061145- Lyon-Osceola-Dickinson-Sioux-O`Brien-Clay-Plymouth-Cherokee- Buena Vista-Woodbury-Ida-Lincoln-Nobles-Rock-Dixon-Dakota-Beadle- Kingsbury-Brookings-Gregory-Jerauld-Sanborn-Miner-Lake-Brule- Aurora-Davison-Hanson-McCook-Minnehaha-Charles Mix-Douglas- Hutchinson-Turner-Bon Homme-Yankton-Union- ...LOW FIRE DANGER...
