.DISCUSSION...

Hot and humid conditions again today with temperatures in the 90s
to lower 100s and dew points for most of the area in the 70s. This
leads to heat indices around and above 105. Monday looks to be hot
and humid as well, although there is some uncertainty in just how
hot. Much cooler temperatures expected by Wednesday into next
weekend with highs in the 70s to near 80.

Showers and storms are possible tonight into early Monday, with
the greatest chances across southwestern MN. Uncertainty exists in
the details of coverage and exact timing for additional chances
Monday night into Tuesday and Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible.

Southerly winds today gust around 25 mph. Periodic breezy
conditions continue through the week.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the
ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is
low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
