684 FNUS63 KFSD 112048 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 348 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025 .DISCUSSION... Breezy conditions with southerly wind gusts 30-40 mph this afternoon and evening. Although elevated fire danger continues with drying fuels and harvest activities, isolated showers/sprinkles as well as higher RH values (above 35% most places) are tempering widespread concerns somewhat. Accumulations this evening will be less than a tenth of an inch. Much warmer day Sunday ahead of a cold front late in the day with highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Ahead of the front, expect isolated to scattered showers with some rumbles of thunder possible. The greatest rainfall accumulations are expected overnight into the morning hours west of I-29, but could see a tenth of an inch or more of rain east of I-29 during the day and into the night. Despite rain and increased humidity (minimum RH above 40%), elevated fire danger continues due to warm temperatures and continued strong winds with gusts 30-40 mph. Cooler temperatures and lighter winds will lead to more localized than widespread elevated conditions to start next week.
