This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northwest Iowa,
west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska,
central South Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central
South Dakota, and southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Morning showers and a few thunderstorms will lift into northern
South Dakota and dissipate through the morning.

After 5pm, isolated to scattered thunderstorms will begin to form
along a front stretching from near Winner to Huron and Watertown.
While there is considerable uncertainty in the coverage of storms,
if they develop, they may bring risks of hail up to 2 inches in
diameter and 70 mph wind gusts. The tornado risk remains low,
focused mostly over central Minnesota and northeast South Dakota.

Storms may then drift slowly to the south or southeast into the
evening and early overnight hours. Additional storm clusters may
move out of the western Dakotas after midnight, reaching the James
River valley by 4am. These storms could bring strong wind gusts.

In addition to thunderstorm risks today, heat index values will
rise near 100 degrees Saturday afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Scattered thunderstorms will continue to be possible Sunday
morning into the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. An
isolated storm or two may produce quarter size hail and 60 mph
wind gusts.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed after 5pm and through Saturday
evening for areas northwest of a line from Yankton to Windom.
