A band of light snow is likely this evening, extending from south central South Dakota, through east central and northeast South Dakota into Minnesota. Snowfall amounts will should remain around a half inch or less, though there is a moderate (around 40%) chance for amounts approaching or exceeding one inch in areas along and north of Highway 14. With mild temperatures ahead of the light precipitation, any light rain or melting snow at the onset could lead to slippery conditions as temperatures fall below freezing this evening. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Below to well below normal temperatures move in Monday and persist through the Thanksgiving holiday week. Confidence is high (>80%) that temperatures will remain below freezing from Thanksgiving onward, with moderate (40-60%) chances that highs will not reach 20 degrees in some areas on Friday and Saturday.
