A north to northeast wind will persist through the rest of the afternoon before shifting to the east and then southeast this evening into the overnight hours. An occasional gust between 15 to 20 mph will be possible this afternoon. Winds increase on Tuesday, with temperatures rising back into the 50s. With afternoon gusts approaching 25 to 30 mph, and relative humidity values falling near 30 percent, fire danger will increase through the James River valley.
